THE SEA OF CORTEZ

The Sea of Cortez is an indie rock band out of California who instantly made a home on my playlist. I’ve been looking forward to blogging about these guys for quite some time. Their music tells of the trials of youth and makes the resolutions to them sound simple.
“Make It Sound” is The Sea of Cortez’s upcoming 2010 release and is being mixed by Jay Pellicci (Deerhoof). I’ve gotten a chance to preview one of the tracks on the album and it’s nothing short of phenomenal. You catch them on Myspace here.
I was watching “Where the Wild Things Are” earlier today and this coincidently was playing in the background.

When I stumbled across these guys yard I fell over. I was carrying someones white picket fence though. Hope their next album has the same enthusiasm. This one is completely rad.
