Oxford, UK brings us a new single out of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs entitled “Household Goods”. Yes, this is a mouth full… but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wish there were more artists and songs with ridiculously long names.
Can you imagine if he was dead set on the name “Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs” and came to find out it had been taken? I guess it would be one of those, “OMFG, REALLY?” moments… followed by 15 minutes of staring at the screen in disbelief.
Or maybe there were other names in the mix before finally settling with T.E.E.D?
Guess we’ll never know… Scholars maintain that the answers to these questions were lost many years ago.

Hyper Crush is a Los Angeles electro band who got together in early 2006. Since then, they’ve toured with everyone from Lady Gaga to Kevin Rudolf, received a record deal from Universal Motown, and remixed some of the hottest singles on the chart into electro club bangers. Recently we at OHH! SO FAMOUS! sat down with Donny, Holly, and Preston and asked them a few questions.

What was the best tour memory you guys have?
One time in Tulsa,Oklahoma Preston got attacked by an elderly gypsy woman/man freak. It was just another day on tour in the middle of nowhere. We stopped in this really creepy shopping center because Preston had to use the bathroom. He goes into this store called simply “Bazzar” and quickly comes back out. He looks like he just saw a ghost. He tells us to come in the check this store out. We all proceed to enter this store with camera in hand. The lady working there was fresh out of “The Hills Have Eyes”. She seemed to be some sort of man beast. She was not pleased with us filming and proceeded to attack Preston about the neck and shoulders. She had long dangerous nails and was chasing poor Pres around the store. We made it out alive but is one of the freakier episodes we’ve had on the road.
If u try to fail, and succeed, which have u done?
You’ve succeeded at being lucky.
What gear do you guys use for production and how does that change for live performances?
We do all our shit in Logic and a lil in Ableton Live on a computer of course. Mostly all of the instruments and plug ins are software and are easy to transport wherever we go. Definitely easier touring and traveling for us than a rock band or a group with a lot of traditional instruments.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be?
Goku from Dragon Ball Z.
What does Tron, Andy Samburg, and Luke Skywalker have to do with your music?
Not much.

Who’s on your iTunes playlist right now?
Donny: All I have Listened to for the passed few months is 70′s Folk Singer/Songwriter stuff. John Denver, James Taylor, Harry Nilsson, Cat Stevens, Van Morrison.
Preston: Skrillex, Ghost of Saber Tooth Tiger, Bassnector, Brian Jonestown Massacre, My Chemical Romance.
Holly: Yelle, Janet Jackson, Big L, Aretha Franklin, Morrissey.
I’ve been watching alot of the Misfits lately so I have to ask, if you had a super power, what would you want your superpower to be?
Going back to the Goku thing, to teleport would be awesome. Could put that to good use. Visit different galaxies and what not.
Best advice you can give to a new artist for succeeding in the music industry?
Figure out exactly what you want to do first and foremost. Once you got that figured out just start grinding non stop.
I read a previous interview where you mentioned the wacky and crazy part of Lady Gaga being part of her act and image. Do you think it’s more difficult for an artist to have people believe the illusion of who they are, rather than who they actually are?
Well we don’t know her well enough to know if anything she is doing is an act or not. I think people right now wanna see shocking things and they thrive on drama. I don’t think there are too many truly crazy artists out there right now. People I think definitely like the idea of a crazy ass super star but those are few and far between.

Check this cat out. He’s like a cross between the last action hero and Mufasa in his golden moment. Here to save Simba from whatever evil is threatening the day or maybe I’m thinking too small…. maybe he’s on a top secret mission to save all of cat kind from mice.

Why mice?
Here’s my theory, cats vs dogs is way too obvious. I mean dogs chase cats… yes this is true. However, cats rarely chase dogs… they mostly chase mice. It’s almost as if they’re trying to tell us that bigger and more important things are threating our world.
For my cat’s sake along side all the others in the world, I hope your mission is successful. I may cringe when my cat falls down and her safety features kick in… her claws embedding themselves into my back as she paints a picture in blood that even Van Gogh could not deny as a masterpiece. But… I do still love her.
God speed, kitty cat… god speed.

Definition is an hip hop artist out of Andover, Britain. “The Roots” switches back and forth between being fairly mellow and then coming on a little more aggressive. The ambient vocals give the track an anchor and fill the space out nicely. This made an instant home on my playlist.

Yes, the dude in that picture is the same guy who was the lead singer of Fall Out Boy. Fresh off the Jenny Craig diet, Patrick Stump is in the process of launching his solo career and has released two versions of his new single, “Spotlight”. The “Oh Nostalgia” and “New Regrets” versions have been opened up for voting in order to decide which will be released with his new album. My money’s on Nu Regrets.

Skrillex dropped a track on soundcloud that he found while rummaging through his hard drive a few days ago. Has a very 70′s meets electro dub feel and has appropriately been defined as a “Disco Step” track. Wobble Wobble.
TRON comes out today. IMAX here I come.

PS: Shout out to Daft Punk for actually making a sound score to the movie rather than show boating a new Daft Punk album.

Kellee Maize is a hip hop artist out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who has been holding down the number 3 spot on the “Amazon Rap & Hip Hop” charts these past few weeks. Got an email not long ago with “I rap about yoga and chakras” in the subject line and have been looking forward to getting this post in.

Estate from Minneapolis, MN recently dropped the third single from their Nuclear City EP, “One Time Lover.” This entire album has a wonderful eighties throw back. Kinda feels like a soundtrack to one of those retro workout videos.

Been super in love with these two remixes out of Kill Paris. Both start out with the trance sounds that overwhelmed the clubs in the 90′s and then move right on into the mutilated synths that are Kill Paris. While similar, they both just seem to say, “Let’s destroy something beautiful.”
